Now that the West Indies has an East Indian captain, the Lara groupies (most "West Indians plus a few N#### Indians) are supporting the touring team.   Who are the racists now ?

Ouch! Damn the English like to gloat .. Rev - do you agree with the assessment in this article?

Lara is ALREADY a millionaire from his MFR deal.. so WI cricket has made him very wealthy... Why hold the board to ransome now for a few bucks more? surely he must understand that the board has to chose CRICKET over LARA... if they give in to him and the C&W rebels then WI cricket is truly bankrupt and will die a nasty death since we wouldn't be able to sponsor away tours and YOUTH CRICKET... so the board chose to focus on CRICKET rather than Lara... I guess his supporters would prefer WI cricket to die... you can't have your cake and eat it too. Lara made a lot of money playing for the WI... Why does he have to hold WI Cricket to ransome now? is it Spite? Greed? oversized ego? Selfishness? There has to be a reason BCL chose money over our cricketing FUTURE... Maybe he doesn't care as much about WI cricket as the La Patas would have you believe... If he cared that much, he should have march his rass to GT by now...
ash Member   Joined:  Sun Aug 1st, 2004 Location:    Posts:  3868 Status:  Offline	stevie man, i gotta give you your props - you articulated this first... but i dont agree with what you said then and what the others are saying now. this contract this is bigger than lara - what change could he have effected from "inside"...this is a legal war btw two telecommunication giants - lara is powerless to do anything.  if more of the players dropped out their would've been more of an incentive to resolve the issue and resolve it faster.  the best team should play at all times and this 'we weren't winning with them anyway' crap is just that - crap! maan, could you imagine aus dropping hayden, gilchrist and mcgrath over some stupid contract argument? or England with harmison, thorpe and trescothick - just wouldn't happen! this board is so inept!

He said Lara has been a drag on WI cricket---there is some truth to that---you are familiar with my Oak Tree analogy. Could Lara have found a solution to the current crisis ? Lara shouldn't have played.  The best team should be picked, Lara knew the chances of that happening were increased by his refusal to play...he took a risk and it didn't come off.
