excuse you :) I have no need to be on a diet ;)

You know, I'd much prefer (grass is always greener and all) to have the extremes of weather rather than the same miserable rainy nonsense we get here day in day out for nine months of the bloody year!! It would keep things interesting.

I remember Dax posting something about this next door a long while ago - The French claim they invented it See here

"Cricket was born in the north of France and taken across the channel by English soldiers who picked it up from us during truce periods in the Hundred Years War,"

Narps,

whats all this talk about HIBERNATION.  Dem boys out west here would laugh you.  Here in god's country anything below -25 C brings out the old neighbourly spirit.  You bundle up scrape your driveway and sidewalk then walk across the street and help the neighbour.  This of course eventually leads one to a fireplace with something to warm the sole and good food.

Have to make the most of it.

Gear should be moon boots (with skid plates) good to -100 C and layers of arctic gear (can be expensive so look around).  I can last about 5 to 6 hrs ice fishing at Spray Lakes (about 3300 feet above sea level).  Above the Canadian Nordic Center at Canmore, AB.

Out here nothing stops us from 'having fun'.

Toronto area under blizzard conditions. Just came in from the mall, shovelled at 8 inches of snow and another 5-6" on the way. Luckily, it's the soft, fluffy kind not the hard, heavy wet stuff which can give you a heart attack when shovelling. Another six weeks of this crap..... thanks Forbes!!

Oh yeah, forgot - bitterly cold too. Had to bring out the heavy gear - four layers including fleece and parka, heavy wool socks....thanks again, Forbes..
